A generation gap is a difference of opinions between one generation and another regarding beliefs, politics, or values. It’s more of a perceived gap between younger people and their parents or grandparents. Coined around the 1960s when it was observed that the younger generation questioned their parents’ beliefs, now we know it’s here to stay. The only problem is, that for every difference of opinion between generations, this term is abused and misused. 8th March is here. The mandatory messages are filling up my inboxes but I have no interest in reciprocating likewise. The town is festooned with banners and tinsel to ‘celebrate’ woman power. Restaurants and malls are trying to outdo each other in a bid to woo these women. When I was younger, all of this used to make me feel happy and hopeful that our generation would score where the previous one had struggled. Why I let my child skip school

5.30AM- The cruel alarm buzzes away pushing me to get out of bed. Snoozing is a luxury I deny myself. 6 AM- Time for the little one to be nudged out of her slumber. “5 more minutes, Mamma”, that sleepy voice pleads. My heart melts and she gets a snooze.
